According to their press release, this band's members met in jail, and they were all to be released on the same date! But if that isn't coincidental enough, they were all doing time for cannibalism!
To celebrate, they formed a band specialising in demonstrating the grandeur of the Russian accordion as utilised in Russki cinema twixt the 60s and the 80s. Fortunately for the rest of us, their studio was bombed by NATO in a little known raid on Russia, called "Operation Burn Accordion, Burn!" - the only hostile military action against a country that was welcomed and celebrated annually by its citizens.
Perplexed, the lads (and gal, the beautiful Lyuba Rikashun) instead turned to ambient dub rock - a contradiction in writing but a wondrous concoction welcomed by ears. Their debut, "No Means Yes in Some Countries Where People Think Completely Different to How We Think About the Word "No"" sold out within days, which prompted the record company to lift its game and press more than nine copies from there on. "Maroon Heaven" is from that album.
